America’s Businesses Are Running On Salesforce. Why Aren’t We Training New Workers On It?

General News

Summary

As a result – and as amazing as it may sound – one tech stack built by a single company represents one of the most significant and distinct skills gaps in the global economy. But as a software company, Salesforce’s ability to close the skills gap of its own making is limited when the scaled pathways millions of Americans still rely on to get good jobs – thousands of colleges and universities – are standing pat. Over the past decade, bootcamps and other last-mile training programs have proliferated to help close skill gaps in coding and data science and analytics. Rather than waiting for colleges and universities to see the light or for employers to amend their expectations and job descriptions, there is a proven way to deliver upskilling and business experience at the same time: apprenticeships. Recognizing the power of this model, Salesforce launched an apprenticeship program in Switzerland with staffing company K2: Bring Women Back to Work.
