STMicroelectronics has introduced the ST54M, a secure mobile chip that combines NFC, eSIM, secure element, and post-quantum cryptography acceleration in one die. The device targets phones and connected electronics that handle payments, identity, access control, transit, and digital car keys. ST says the chip supports NIST-aligned PQC algorithms and has already passed key certification testing, with production and certification targeted for July 2026. Sampling is available now, giving OEMs and ecosystem partners time to evaluate and integrate quantum-ready security ahead of broader deployment needs.
