Bombardier expands use of Siemens Software to modernize aircraft development

General News

Summary

The Canadian aerospace manufacturer will incorporate additional tools from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, which the companies say will improve engineering efficiency and modernize its product development workflow. The integration seeks to establish a seamless digital thread linking mechanical and electrical design processes throughout the aircraft lifecycle. The company’s first Mendix-based application enhances search capabilities by linking external data with Teamcenter, supporting faster and more secure access to information while reducing IT workload. "We are pleased to be working closely with Siemens to enhance and optimize our digital aircraft development process," said Glenn Chapnik, senior director of Engineering at Bombardier. "Using Siemens Xcelerator provides an integrated solution spanning across engineering disciplines and downstream users, which could facilitate the use of consistent processes and leverage collaboration across the enterprise," Chapnik added.
