It rated Microsoft stock, along with that of Palo Alto and Salesforce as top software picks for the year. XMorgan Stanley also upgraded Five9 ( FIVN ), Tenable Holdings ( TENB ), DocuSign ( DOCU ), and New Relic ( NEWR ) all to overweight on Tuesday. "With competitive advantage across a broadening range of industries being driven by the ability to well utilize software-based functionalities, we see strategic digitalization efforts proving durable in the face of a slowing macro environment," Morgan Stanley analyst Keith Weiss said in a report to clients. Analysts have been looking for continued traction in nabbing large contracts and new verticals such as health care, financial services, and government.
