Signal: Siemens to acquire Heliox
Summary
Heliox is a Netherlands-based specialist in fast charging solutions, serving e-Bus and e-Truck fleets and passenger vehicles. Siemens said it plans to “acquire the company from private equity firm Waterland and an entity owned by a group of employees and individual shareholders.” Headquartered in the Netherlands, Heliox employs around 330 people. Siemens Smart Infrastructure offers IoT-enabled hardware, software and services for AC and DC charging from 11 to 300 kW for a broad range of applications. The acquisition would add to Siemens’ charging portfolio with Heliox’s technology for e-Bus and e-Truck fleets and passenger vehicles. In addition to expanding its offering in heavy-duty EVs, Siemens also sees digitalisation and software potential with regard to ancillary energy, depot management and other services.
