Top Hat, a Toronto, Canada-based interactive teaching platform provider, raised $22.5M in Series C financing.In conjunction with the funding, Albert Wenger, partner at Union Square Ventures, joined Top Hat’s Board of Directors.The company, which currently has more than 200 employees across offices in Toronto and Denver, intends to use the funds to accelerate the development of new solutions for creating and distributing academic content.Led by Mike Silagadze, co-founder and CEO, Top Hat provides a cloud-based teaching platform that enables professors to engage students inside and outside the classroom with content, tools and activities.Content is available across disciplines including chemistry, biology, history and statistics with more coming online every month.
