Venice Indian Volleyball Wins Preseason Home Opener

Venice, FL, August 30, 2008 --( Venice High was lead by junior outside hitter Dorothy Rahal who led the team with 16 kills; junior middle hitter Jillian Allen registered five aces and a block and junior setter Taylor Capasso finished up with 35 assists and three kills.Looking forward to seeing a great crowd for the Championship game on Thursday August 28th at 7PM against Berkeley Prep at Venice High School.It was a classic Venice win with disciplined defense and passing, aggressive swinging, and a whole lot of guts.Both teams stayed very even the 1st 2 games until about 20 and then the Indians put it into high gear.Venice High was lead by junior outside hitter Dorothy Rahal who led the team with 16 kills; junior middle hitter Jillian Allen registered five aces and a block and junior setter Taylor Capasso finished up with 35 assists and three kills.Coach Brian Wheatley was impressed with his young teams first game.Looking forward to seeing a great crowd for the Championship game on Thursday August 28th at 7PM against Berkeley Prep at Venice High School.Venice Indian Volleyball was 2007 District Champ.
