By presenting this new course for NSC I hope to engage students with this significant period of our past, and also to share current historical thinking about the conflict and society at that time.In gaining his PhD he researched in detail military and social aspects of the English Civil Wars in the borderlands of Wales.The course focuses on the Civil War in Oswestry, Shropshire and the Welsh Marches; Oswestry was an important Royalist stronghold for part of the war before being ransacked by Parliamentarian forces.The course lasts for five weeks and will cover a wide range of areas including; social, religious, political and military topics.By presenting this new course for NSC I hope to engage students with this significant period of our past, and also to share current historical thinking about the conflict and society at that time.In gaining his PhD he researched in detail military and social aspects of the English Civil Wars in the borderlands of Wales.
