Backers included several entrepreneurs in the travel industry, including Jani Kaskinen, former CEO of Hotelzon (acquired by Travelport), Andreas Hansson, co-founder and previous CEO of Cabforce (acquired by CarTrawler), Jaakko Ollila, co-founder of CRF Health, as well as Takeoff Partners.The company, which aims to close a Series A round by the end of 2017, intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and internationalization.Led by Joonas Ahola, CEO and founder, MeetingPackage.com providing users and hotels with a common platform for searching, booking and managing meeting rooms and related service packages online, with an inventory of more than 250,000 meeting rooms around the world.The company has offices in Finland (HQ), UK, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic and Germany.In addition to previous presence in the Nordic, Baltics and the UK, MeetingPackage.com has expanded recently to Italy, Spain, Czech Republic and Germany and is aiming to launch in France, Portugal, Netherlands and Poland in the coming months.
