KonTEM GmbH, a Bonn, Germany-based company that develops an innovative phase contrast system for transmission electron microscopes (TEM), has received an investment of undisclosed funding from High-Tech Gründerfonds.The company intends to use the capital for operational ramp-up and market penetration.Incorporated in 2011 as a spin-off company of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG) and the Center of advanced european studies and research (caesar), KonTEM provides a system that combines enhanced image contrast with high object resolution and thus opens up new possibilities for the analysis of biological specimen.– the automatic high precision positioning device, which allows to precisely placing the phase plate into the electron beam, a matter of nanometers.The company is led by Managing Director Joerg Wamser.
