Almalence Receives Venture Capital Investment from Intel Capital

Almalence Inc., an Austin, Texas-based developer of a computational imaging platform, received an investment from Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment organization.Intel and Almalence have also entered into a strategic collaboration, which will allow Intel to bring the benefits of Almalence’s imaging technology to its architecture.The company intends to use the funds to develop its mobile imaging technology enabling mobile cameras to achieve the image quality level of DSLR cameras.Founded in 2005 by Russian engineers Dmitry Shmunk and Eugene Panich, Almalence develops computational photography technologies that improve the image quality of photos and videos in mobile devices.It is licensed directly to OEM customers.
