Pittsburgh-based Plextronics completed a $14m Series B-1 financing round led by Solvay North American Investments, a member of the Solvay Group, an international chemical and pharmaceutical group headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.Plextronics is an international technology company that specializes in printed solar, lighting and other organic electronics.The company’s focus is on organic light emitting diodes (OLED) and organic solar technology, specifically the conductive inks and process technologies that enable those and other similar applications.The financing will allow the company to continue to grow its research, development and pilot manufacturing programs, all of which are aimed at the commercialization of its technology.Several of Plextronics’ existing private investors also contributed to this financing.
