Madison Reed, a San Francisco, CA-based maker of a hair-coloring product, raised $12m in Series B funding.In conjunction with the funding, Norwest Managing Partner Jeff Crowe joined Madison Reed’s board.The company, which had raised a $3.9m from True Ventures and Maveron in April 2013, intends to use the funds to expand operations.Co-founded in April 2013 by Amy Errett, Madison Reed provides a hair color product free of ammonia and other chemicals.Its application kit allows customers to watch how-to videos online or through an iPhone app to apply it to their hair.
