Salmat set to farewell offshoring services unit MicroSourcing
Summary
It is understood the company is in talks to sell its managed services business unit MicroSourcing, which helps clients move back office functions to the Philippines, to a private equity-backed rival. The potential acquirer is understood to be Probe Group, which is part-owned by Sydney-based private equity firm Five V Capital. Gilbert + Tobin is advising Five V, while Clayton Utz has been running the legal work for Salmat, sources said. Interestingly, it is not the first time Salmat and the business processing specialist Probe Group have cut a deal. Probe Group, with backing from Adrian MacKenzie’s Five V Capital, acquired Salmat’s contact business last year, in a deal that helped create what Probe Group said was the “market-leading, privately owned Australasian BPO provider”.
