He has trained at some of the best institutions in the United States: fellowship in hematology/oncology at the National Cancer Institute (NIH) and the University of Colorado Medical Center, then assistant professor of medicine and oncology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has authored book chapters and Editorials and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals making an impact in the field of cancer. He has awarded Excellence in Teaching Awards with Hopkins, including one from the Department of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital of Baltimore for enthusiastic support and dedication to resident education including the compilation of the “Joshi Handbooks in Medicine”.
