Broadview Heights hires North Royalton firm for $10 million to widen Ohio 82
Summary
Workers will add two lanes to the existing three-lane roadway between Ken Mar Industrial Parkway, just west of Interstate 77, and Town Centre Drive, just east of Broadview. In addition, a $4.4 million grant from the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency will help with construction, contract-administration and property-acquisition costs. The city has spent about $600,000 buying parts of 65 parcels along Ohio 82, Broadview Heights Engineer Gary Yelenosky said. In addition to the widening, the Ohio 82 project will include the replacement of existing traffic lights and mast arms, and the addition of two traffic lights -- one at Glenwood Trail, a residential street, and the other at Market Place, a commercial street. Yelenosky said most storm sewers along Ohio 82 will be replaced, and new curbs and catch basins will be added.
