‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ shows us faith pays off in final season’s second episode
Summary
We see Anakin and Padme talk in a private moment, which is only more scene-setting before “Revenge of the Sith.” The group known as Bad Batch continues to do really good work in the show, taking down enemies, including a super strong race that is keeping Echo hostage (or are they?). But the thrust of the episode comes from its opening message: “The search for truth begins with belief.” This defines how Rex plans to find Echo. For the most part, “A Distant Echo” is a slower episode that doesn’t tell us anything major, which is somewhat of a disappointment given that this is the final season of “The Clone Wars.” But it does put an end to the missing Echo storyline, and it includes more table-dressing for the forthcoming “Revenge of the Sith.” It’s a classic episode for anyone who wants more “Star Wars” content, and it delivers a perfect message about how following our faith — even in the face of doubters — can lead to the results we want most. We know that this war leads to the formation of the Galactic Empire, the rise of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, and so many more destructive habits. Rex actively helps Anakin and Padme sneak around, we see in this episode, providing another instance where we learn another truth about the clone troopers.
