Americans received over 58 billion robocalls last year, up 29% in Massachusetts

"Weve now had well over 100 billion robocalls in the past two years," said YouMail CEO Alex Quilici. The new law will give authorities more enforcement powers and could speed up measures the industry is already taking to identify robocalls. But some Chinese immigrants who have followed the robocalls prompts have found themselves sucked into an international phone scam. According to National Public Radio, a 65-year-old Chinese woman complained to the New York Police Department that she had been scammed out of $1.3 million.
