Emily Maryn Laird and Scott James Dresser were married June 22 at First Parish Church of York, Me. Dan Hollis, a United Church of Christ minister and pastor, performed the ceremony. Mrs. Dresser, 30, is a development assistant at Preble Street, a nonprofit organization in Portland, Me., that provides social services to the homeless. Her most recent book was “Finding Wonders: Three Girls Who Changed Science” (Simon & Schuster, 2016). Mr. Dresser, 32, is studying for a master’s degree in public policy at the University of Southern Maine.
