Mitchell Division Acquires Disability Services Company

Acquisitions

Summary

Mitchell International, a San Diego company that makes software for car insurance claims, built out its disability services division with a new acquisition on Jan. 3. Excel will maintain its brand, and will continue to be led by President Brenda Smith. In September, Mitchell acquired the Pennsylvania-based medical cost containment and disability management company. The deal will add 125 employees to Genex, boosting its headcount to more than 1,600 case managers. “Both Genex and Excel employees are committed to facilitating the recovery of injured and disabled workers and delivering exceptional claim outcomes by controlling medical costs and disability durations.” StoneRidge Advisors LLC served as Excel’s advisor for the deal.
