Vivendi Acquires Dailymotion

Integrated media and content group Vivendi (Euronext: VIV ISIN FR0000127771) acquired an 80% stake in Dailymotion, an aggregation and distribution platform, for €217m.Orange sold its stake in the company.The integration within Vivendi offers Dailymotion the means to accelerate its growth and continue its international expansion.It gives the company access to music and audiovisual content and allows for the joint development, together with the Universal Music Group and Canal+ Group teams, of original content and formats.This acquisition will allow Vivendi’s Group to add an over-the-top distribution platform of international stature and a technological expertise which complements its existing one.
