General News

Summary

Participants receive intensive and individualized coaching and access to gener8tor’s national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. The program is designed to help startups gain early customer traction on their product or idea, and establish metrics that can make them competitive applicants for full-time, equity-based accelerators or seed investment. “gBETA has a strong track record in helping UW-Madison startups and other community enterprises prepare for raising money and facing the challenges and opportunities of growth.” “Our program works directly with faculty, staff, and students in the early stages of developing their innovations on campus, and as they grow their businesses,” says D2P director Andy Richards. “The founders we get to work with over the next several weeks have remarkably diverse backgrounds and are passionate about the problems they are tackling.” gBETA Madison is held twice a year with five companies accepted per cohort to ensure a high level of individualized attention. Therapists and yoga instructors use products and services during sessions to facilitate communication and understanding of safe and effective activities, and create accountability for home practice.
