Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with Shariq Shah, founder and CEO of Ambii Inc., an up and coming music streaming service providing businesses with free, legally licensed in-store audio. Ambii Inc. — enabling business owners to legally play music with the ability to create schedules and introduce convenient in-store announcements Born in Kuwait, Shariq lived in Texas, before moving to California, where he attended San Jose University for computer science. In his senior year of college, Shariq decided to launch a startup named Ambii on the initial premise of making it easy for groups to play music together (e.g. in a car). From a skeptic’s lens, Ambii’s greatest difficulty is making direct contact with business owners and raising awareness of music licensing laws. Ambii is uniquely positioned as a digital pioneer in its space, has a proven product market fit, and now just needs to focus on improving scale and continuing to gain traction.
