Year of the Tiger: Enhancing Perception at the Edge

With the Year of the Tiger fast approaching, it’s a good time to provide an update on our future strategic direction as well share our thoughts on the key market and technology trends that we see emerging over the next twelve months. Over the past decade we have transitioned our business from IC design to embedded systems and most recently the development of VIA Intelligent Solutions for the automotive, factory, and smart home markets. While cameras are sufficient for mainstream on-road vehicle safety applications, radar is essential for the more demanding off-road environments you find in industries like mining and construction. To meet this growing demand, we have added smart sensor fusion technology to the VIA Mobile360 Heavy Equipment Safety System that we launched at MINEXPO® 2021 in Las Vegas. During the coming year, we will step up the enhancement of edge perception capabilities of our VIA Mobile360 systems through the continuous optimization of our algorithms to further boost performance and accuracy for their target use cases and environments.
