Part of the extremely popular among cybercriminals STOP/Djvu malware family, the Yqal Ransomware is capable of causing significant damage to compromised computers. The threat executes an encryption process with a strong cryptographic algorithm to lock the victims files and render them unusable. Afterward, the attackers extort the affected users for money in exchange for restoring access to their data. It mentions that victims will have to pay a ransom of $980 if they want to receive the decryption software tool and key necessary for the restoration of the data.
