MBA Swears In New Officers For 2021-22

Kristy Fercho, executive vice president and head of home lending at Wells Fargo, was sworn in today as chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) during the association’s 2021 Annual Convention & Expo in San Diego. As head of Wells Fargo’s Home Lending division, Fercho leads more than 25,000 mortgage professionals in sales; operations; servicing; capital markets; portfolio management and related business; risk management, and supporting functions. "I look forward to collaborating with Matt Rocco and Mark Jones to address the opportunities and challenges facing our industry, including developing strategies that will ease our nation’s affordable housing crisis and close the racial homeownership gap.” She added that the mortgage industry “has a responsibility to be part of the solution that levels the playing field and ensures all Americans have access to the American Dream of homeownership.” Fercho serves as vice chair of MBAs Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, as co-chair of the Affordable Housing Council, and as a member of its Residential Board of Governors. Jones co-founded Amerifirst Home Mortgage in 1983 and has overseen the companys growth from a single site in Kalamazoo, Mich., to more than 80 locations and 900 employees nationwide. Based in Washington, D.C., the association works to ensure the continued strength of the nations residential and commercial real estate markets, to expand homeownership, and to extend access to affordable housing to all Americans.
