UAE startup Seez drives away with $5 mn; Faceki raises pre-seed funding

The UAE-based automotive retail platform Seez has raised $5 million in a pre-Series B round from Nuwa Capital, Crealize, BY Venture Partners, Omran Group and some angel investors. The co-founder also said that Seez is working with auto dealers and manufacturers on digital solutions and data insights to essentially operate as a “Shopify” for these businesses. “We are already live with Ejner Hessel A/S, the second-largest auto dealership in Denmark and the country’s largest official Mercedes-Benz dealer, with other markets rolling out in the coming months,” he added. The facial recognition and identity verification platform enables organizations to verify and onboard their users, especially in terms of fighting fraud. “We aspire to provide a more convenient and frictionless verification solution to help make customer onboarding experience simple, safe and more secure,” said Al-Ghatam, who is also the company’s CEO.
