Startup spotlight: Seer, the luxury clienteling software
Summary
As Christina Czap progressed in her career as a sales associate for Neiman Marcus, Miu Miu and Alexander McQueen, she used a mix of apps and software to serve high-spending clients with extra benefits like access to the latest collection shipments and personalised recommendations. This week, Czap and her husband Felipe Saint-Jean launch Seer, a web-based software company for luxury sales teams that consolidates seller tools typically spread across places like WhatsApp, Mailchimp and Photoshop. Y Combinator invested $125,000 in Seer and provided coaching and mentorship, culminating in an investor presentation on 23 March. Seer has also received additional funding of an undisclosed amount from Foundation Capital’s Jonathan Ehrlich. Bambuser, used by Farfetch and Moda Operandi, raised $45 million in September; Hero, which lets store associates assist online shoppers, added a video component amid the pandemic after raising $10 million; and Livescale, used by Roberto Cavalli and L’Oréal, just announced a funding round.
