Attention Sonex builders, pilots and enthusiasts: A court ruling earlier this year has severly damaged the ability of experimental aircraft owners and pilots to obtain transition and recurrency training in their aircraft. While the FAA has used letters of deviation authority (LODAs) and exemptions to temporarily address the issue, a long-term fix is years away under the normal rulemaking process.
