What is the cloudd Process on Mac?

Mac users who have shown interest in what is going on behind the hood of their macOS might have noticed a process named cloudd. As some might have guessed from its name, the process (also known as a daemon) is related to Apples CloudKit framework. The default behavior of Parallels Desktop sees the program store its VM files in the Documents folder. At some point, cloudd might try to sync the data with iCloud leading to high usage of system resources. If you do not have a VM installed, but cloudd is still using a lot of resources, you can try restarting the Mac or using Force Quit to stop a frozen or crashing application that might be trying to sync with iCloud.
