Enabling self-powered switches in Bluetooth mesh
Summary
“We have been working on this model for some time and now decided to open the specification to anyone who wants to utilise EnOcean switches in Bluetooth mesh. We believe in lighting democratisation and see Bluetooth mesh as an interoperable technology platform,” said Simon Slupik, CTO at Silvair. “Providing a standardised way to use EnOcean’s self-powered switches within lighting control systems based on Bluetooth mesh significantly simplifies system design and enables unified, interoperable lighting control solutions. We believe that Bluetooth mesh solutions like that of Silvair will play an important role as lighting and IoT data platform and therefore actively support the standardisation work,” added Matthias Kassner, VP of Product Marketing at EnOcean. The model also enables the configuration of EnOcean switch properties.
