German challenger bank for freelancers Kontist raises Series A funding
Summary
Berlin-based neobank startup Kontist has raised an undisclosed amount in a Series A funding round led by Haufe Group, with participation from Founders, a Danish venture builder the startup was initially built out of. Together with Haufe Group, Kontist plans to launch a “co-creation lab to build integrations for different financial products to help small businesses grow together,” the company stated in a press release. The end goal is to make freelancing as simple and straightforward from the accounting perspective as working as a full-time employee. Leveraging its partnership with Haufe Group, Kontist plans to introduce deep integration with a popular online accounting software suite Lexoffice. The companies will also run a co-creation lab with the objective “to rethink the business workflows of SMBs and streamline them by integrating different services and partners on one platform.”
