Grande Communications recently began construction on its broadband network in San Antonio and will offer high-speed Internet, local and long distance phone and cable entertainment services to area homes and businesses. The company intends to deliver high-speed Internet access services, local and long distance telephone, and analog and digital cable over its own advanced broadband network to communities along the Central Texas I-35 corridor. "Grande is displaying the spirit in which they negotiated the franchise agreement and I am pleased they are breaking ground first in a historically technology underserved area of the City of Austin," said Michael Parks, Telecommunications and Regualatory Affairs Director. Grande is on a fast track to deliver analog and digital cable, local and long distance telephone and high speed Internet access services over its advanced broadband network to communities along the I-35 corridor. Targeting residential and small business consumers, Grande intends to deliver analog and digital cable, local and long distance telephone and high speed Internet access services over its own "deep fiber" broadband network.
