Retorio, a Munich, Germay-based SAAS developer of a video-based behavioral assessment tool announced that it raised a capital funding round. The equity was raised from investos led by the UK-based investor Basinghall Partners, which contributed with half of the funding. Financial details were not disclosed. Retorio founded as a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich in 2018 by Christoph Hohenberger, Patrick Oehler and Abdurrahman Namli, developed a software solution that optimises the entire application process for hiring people by combining artificial intelligence (AI) with scientific findings from psychology and organisational research. The product is based on the scientifically recognised Big 5 personality model and is capable to recognize behaviour through voice, speech, gesture, and facial expression, creating a personality profile.
