Coast Guard Searching for Cloud-Based Digital Evidence Management System – MeriTalk
Summary
In a Feb. 9 Beta.Sam.gov sources sought notice, USGS said it anticipates acquiring a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to meet its need. USCG explained that CGIS is required to collect, store, share, and dispose of digital evidence. Instead, CGIS seeks to move to a digital evidence management system (DEMS) to replace the legacy processes with a cloud-based SaaS solution. The DEMS will have to include access to mobile applications and/or web-based interface to effect the acquisition and intake of all types of raw, photographic, video, and audio evidence, into a cloud storage system. Additionally, the solution must allow for future retrieval of the evidence and the ability to share it with Federal, state, and local law enforcement partner agencies, and prosecutors.
