Like all other trojans, Aptordoc is meant to infiltrate the victim’s system without raising suspicion. Once Aptordoc infiltrated the victims machines, it was observed to remove the system’s AppStore and open a fake OSX update window. The trojan also has the capability to upload the collected data to a server presumably owned by the cybercriminals behind Aptordoc. Trojans achieve that through code obfuscation and other advanced techniques that prevent common anti-malware solutions from identifying them as a threat. Luckily, the most reliable anti-virus programs can detect and remove trojans like Aptordoc efficiently.
