Copyright Clearance Center’s RightsLink® for Scientific Communications Increases Awareness of Available Open Access Publication Funding Upon Manuscript Submission
Summary
Leading submission platforms such as those offered by CCC partners Aries, ScholarOne and eJournal Press, enable authors to preview Article Processing Charges (APCs) that may be due upon manuscript acceptance. “With this new capability, CCC and its submission platform partners make it possible to connect author affiliation to funding eligibility early in the manuscript lifecycle, providing an important missing link between the various workflow stakeholders.” RLSC enables publishers, funders and institutions to support a variety of Open Access agreements. RLSC is now the most widely adopted market solution to support institutional agreements, ease the APC payment process for unfunded authors, facilitate alignment with mandates such as Plan S, and lower operating costs for all parties. More than 30 publishers rely on CCC’s sophisticated agreement management solution to serve more than 800 global academic institutions, consortia, and funders – including Jisc, Max Planck and California Digital Library. CCC, with its subsidiary RightsDirect, collaborates with customers to advance how data and information are integrated, accessed, and shared while setting the standard for effective copyright solutions that accelerate knowledge and power innovation.
