She taught me in Sunday School, played the piano and organ for church, and was always a presence there. Jo rode up in the elevator with her and delivered the baby there while the doctor waited impatiently in labor and delivery for her arrival. We worked together for several years on the children’s Christmas program and other special events within the church. They had to move her again to a memory unit as the nursing supervisor in her tried to answer the phones and the patient call lights as she had done for so many years. As her memory grew worse, she didn’t always remember her children’s names but at the end, she was able to recall them.
