U.S.-based online lending platform VIVA Finance announced on Thursday it secured $2.3 million through its latest seed funding round, which was ledgy Acumen Fund. Formed in 2019, VIVA describes itself as an online lending platform that differentiates itself by underwriting loans based on employment data rather than credit scores. This in return enables more people to attain access to affordable credit at lower rates. VIVA Finance Co-Founder and CEO, Jack Markwalter, further stated: Amid current economic uncertainties due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, our mission of building an inclusive financial system is more crucial than ever.
