Adding Riser Components in Inspire Cast - Computer Aided Technology

Other components are added to improve the part quality by avoiding manufacturing defects (riser, filters, overflows, etc.). Our sample cast part contains internal cavities, which means that we should add a “core” component to the mold. My colleague Drew Buchanan recently wrote a Blog article describing the process for adding a core, which can be found here. When we pick the top surface, the software automatically creates a cone shaped riser component. Adding other casting components such as molds, sleeves, coolers and filters follows a similar workflow and can also be completed with just a few mouse clicks.
