Queensland schoolies 2020 cancelled due to COVID-19 - SSKB
Summary
Schoolies week was scheduled to start on the Gold Coast on November 21 however, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said that all official events including concerts and beach parties will be cancelled. Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate had previously made comments for school leavers celebrations in the city to be cancelled and backed the Government’s decision to cancel. Gatherings in residences will be limits to no more than 10 people state-wide from November 21 to December 11. Queensland Premier Anastacia Palaszczuk expressed “We also know that our tourism sector needs our support so, just as any other person can go along and book accommodation people are welcome to continue to do that in those small groups right across Queensland”.
