(This was before cell phones, circa 1987) So she was told to go directly to the hospital and we would continue to try to reach her husband. They all loaded up in the car and headed to the hospital because this baby was coming quickly and there was no time to waste. In fact, our office had called ahead and told them that she was enroute but they had expected her a couple of hours ago. When the door opened on the OB floor, the wail of a newborn rang out down the hall! A nurse with many years , dedication and a fourth time mother got the job done and a healthy baby boy was the result.
