VIA Pixetto Round-up: Accelerating AI and ML Learning
Summary
As AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) become increasingly embedded in our daily lives, it’s never been more important for schools worldwide to equip their students with a theoretical and practical knowledge of how these technology work and how they can be applied. Professor Zhang Yushan of National Taiwan Normal University and his team showed how this can be done with the projects they designed for students attending the AI summer camp held this week at Qinxian High School in Jiufen, one of Taiwan’s most famous beauty spots. One of the highlights of the event was the AI Snow White Poisoned Apple project, in which students learned how save the innocent young maiden from a painful death at the hands of the wicked witch by training VIA Pixetto to differentiate between red and purple. For students more interested in commercial applications, the AI Goods Sorting Machine provided a glimpse of how color and shape recognition technologies can be used for automating production, logistics, and quality control processes. We were very proud to support the AI summer camp together with the New Taipei City Education Bureau, National Taiwan Normal University, and of course the principal and staff of Qinxian High School.
