The company seeks to address the growing demand for compliance, data governance, and security of assets that is fueled by the wider migration to the cloud. In addition to governance and security, organizations would also benefit from data discovery capabilities, as well as access control and analytics tools, the company says. Balaji Ganesan, CEO and co-founder of Privacera, points out that the company’s experience in working with the Apache Ranger community has helped it in designing the architecture required to quickly and efficiently support compliance and governance in the cloud. Previous investors Alchemist Accelerator, Cervin Ventures, and Point 72, as well as David Dubick, also participated in the round.
