Sulivan 12v Validus Starter - Possible Batteries? - RC Groups

I cant seem to find any personal info of anyone owning Sulivans beefiest starter, (probably due to how overkill it is). On the products page it only states it can take 12volts at a max 600amp draw, and its power leads are car battery clamps. If I could use Li-Pos thatd would be great, and im sure the dc motor could handle 24v, but im assuming because of the gearing it might not be able to handle the step up? The way I see it, I gotta find a 3S battery with high C rating to mAH ratio.
