Summary
I couldnt find 5mm foam here in NZ but did find 5mm paper wrapped foam in 32x40" sheets for $18.99. This paper will not easily remove but I discovered that by covering it in cheap packing tape and then peeling it off it removed enough to allow the foam to bend sufficiently to shape the wings. The difficult shape to the top of the tail section was only possible using 3mm foam which had easily removable paper and so would curve easily. The completed airframe weighed in at a rather heavy 1.3 Kg and to obtain the correct COG I had to use a heavy old 5200 3s Multistar lipo The suggested 2200 3s was simply not possible with such a heavy aft section.
