Plush 32 speed control set up help - RC Groups

Just wondering if anyone has run the plush 32 speed controls on low kv motors. I have a plane with a plush 100 amp, and a turnigy aerodrive 42/40 620kv on 5 cells, perfect I have a similar plane with a plush32 80 amp, and a turnigy aerodrive 42/40 540kv on 5 cells, and none of the timing settings give smooth running. Change back the theoretically middle position that is supposed to be the default timing, and it runs well enough to fly. Both plush 32s I have tried went through a similar ritual, and in the motor ran best on the factory setting that they would not run on originally. I have connected the Plush 32 speed control to the 620kv motor and it seems to run perfectly with any of the timing settings.
