Summary
About the only link between OS and Thunder Tiger that i know of is that one of OSs top designers, Kaz Minaro (spelling? ) left/was head hunted/lured away from OS to work for Thunder Tiger and it was after his arrival at Thunder Tiger that their engines began to closely resemble OS ones ...earlier TT engines were often close copies of Enya engines. AFAIK there is no manufacturing, financial, marketing or any other links between the OS company in Japan and Thunder Tiger in Taiwan. What may be a perceived link in current engine styling may be due to the increasing use by bigger name engine companies, of contract manufacture of some or all of their engines and components in China-and the tendency of many Chinese made engines to be very similar-differing only in the badge engineering label on the side....SC and ASP being a good example. At least some OS engines are being manufactured in PRC....I am not sure what the situation is with Thunder Tiger...given they are Taiwan based, i somehow doubt theyd be getting engines made in the PRC -for obvious reasons....
