Convert Spektrum stick Transmitter to wheel? - RC Groups

I would like to convert one of my old Spektrum (air) stick transmitters to a steering wheel mode for the Aileron position. My reason is that I am mainly an RC flyer. I bought a Spektrum DX5C pistol grip radio and found out that it, as well as apparently most other pistol grip radios will NOT bind with my multitude of Spektrum AIR receivers. But as a result I want to convert one of my Spektrum transmitters, probably a DX7, but have the aileron position become a steering wheel. Back in the Days of 72mhz radios, they made such things Any suggestions would be appreciated.
