Securing a silcon exhaust deflector - RC Groups

Whats the best way to secure a silicon exhaust delfector. My .52 4s has a bit narrow exahust tip compared to my other engines and Im not confident the zip tie will keep it in place. Otpion 1: A tiny pin prick of a hole drilled with a wire twisty through both deflector and muffler tip. ---- Any special wire needed due to thinness and heat it will take? Option 2) A bit more difficult, a minimal flange put into the tip so the zip tie will be unable to slip past.
